Keio
University is a private educational corporation and includes affiliated
Elementary, Junior High, and High Schools established under the
Private School Establishment Law of Japan. It also inludes a high
school located in New York. The President is the chief executive
officer of the Keio Gijuku educational corporation.
In accordance with the University Articles of Incorporation,
the President is the executive head of the Keio Gijuku educational
corporation as well as the head of the University. The President
is elected by ballot by selected members within Keio University
and other relevant members outside Keio University appointed by
the election committee. The term of the President is four years,
though reappointment is permitted when reelected under the aforesaid
voting system.
